NDIS Independent Expert Review Advice Service

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) has introduced an Independent Expert Review (IER) program to provide better and earlier outcomes for NDIS participants who have lodged an application with the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT).

The Australian Government has funded National Legal Aid to provide free legal support and advice to NDIS participants who choose to take part in the IER program.

If you have received an invitation to participate in the IER program, you can contact the NDIS Independent Expert Review Advice Service (IERAS) for free information and support on 1800 44 1800 or email ieradvice@legalaid.qld.gov.au

Who are we?

  • legal advice and assistance following a recommendation by an Independent Expert.
  • How can we help you?

    We can support you by:

  • supporting you to find an advocate to help you get your IER process started
  • giving you advice on whether to accept an Independent Expert’s recommendations
  • supporting you to finalise any agreements made following an Independent Expert’s recommendations
  • connecting you with advocacy and legal services (including Legal Aid Commissions) for ongoing assistance and/or representation in your AAT matter
  • connecting you with advocacy and legal services (including Legal Aid Commissions) for ongoing assistance and/or representation for other legal issues.
